Free Camp Planning
MCKENZIE INSTITUTE INDIA’S FREE CAMPS ARE PLANNED TO BE CONDUCTED ON A SUNDAY CLOSER TO WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY IN THE MEMORY OF ROBIN MCKENZIE.
This year’s MDT Free Camp will be conducted on September 11th, 2022.
This planning includes
Pre camp activities , Camp conduction and Post camp activities.
*PRE CAMP ACTIVITIES
MIINDIA announces camp date and call for hosts who wish to conduct these camps at their own clinics or hospitals / nursing homes where they practice. The announcement mail goes to all Certified and Diploma MDT clinicians of the country. These hosts are supported by volunteers who are either Cert or Dip MDTs or Part A-D students of McKenzie education system.
Eligibility for hosting ( Quality control protocol ) : Cert MDT or Dip MDT clinician should be on the reference list of MIINDIA website.
FREE CAMP PLANNING
McKenzie Institute India supports all these hosts in advance by giving them camp publicity material like pamphlets to distribute in general public, banners, mini assessment form, home instruction papers to be given to patients. MIINDIA camp team regularly communicates with all hosts and volunteers via emails and whats app group specially made for this event. Camp publicity mail is also cent to general physicians and Orthopaedic doctors whose emails are graciously shared by camp hosts. So along with publicity among general population , medical faculties are also made aware of this activity.
All instructions required for camp conduction are given before the camp.
At all the time , Hosts and volunteers are reminded that they are representing MIINDIA and they are suppose to use MDT in its pure form while assessing and treating patients during the camp.
Minimum 2 volunteers are allocated to each host .
CAMP CONDUCTION AND POST CAMP ACTIVITY
All hosts assess, treat and educate patients using MDT system, Volunteers assist in history taking and patient education . 2 free follow up appointments are given which is recommended by MIINDIA . Total 3 FREE sessions help to confirm classification and treat patients with appropriate Direction Preference exercises.
All hosts are given a Statistic form which they fill and send to MIINDIA. Spine and extremity patients are classified into the groups of Derangement / Dysfunction / Postural / Others.
This activity of paper work emphasizes collection of data and to check scope of research in private clinical set up.
