McKenzie Institute India, 28th of the McKenzie Institute worldwide, was founded in 2012, and Incorporated under the Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956, for charitable purpose on 13th Jan 2013.

The main objectives of MI India are:
- To educate physiotherapists, the medical profession and the public in the philosophy developed by Robin McKenzie and its application of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) of mechanical spinal and musculoskeletal disorders.
- To promote and support research that will:
- advance generally the knowledge of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) for the treatment of mechanical spinal and musculoskeletal disorders.
- investigate scientifically the hypotheses and their clinical application of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) to spinal and musculoskeletal disorders;
